TIJUANA.- The biotechnology company Scantibodies, which currently generates 1,800 jobs, strengthens the economic and industrial development of the region with the inauguration of the "Esperanza" building, which will serve for storage and logistics services for the medical, aerospace, and electronics industries.
During the ceremony, the Secretary of Economy and Innovation said, "For our government, it is very motivating to be able to walk hand in hand with entrepreneurial people who put their heart into every small action."

"For our governor, it is essential to be able to team up with entrepreneurs like Scantibodies. And we are very pleased to see the dedication, the effort, and above all the love they put into each of their projects and the enormous efficiency they have to execute them," added the head of the SEI.
For his part, the president and founder of Scantibodies, Tom Cantor, thanked the government of Baja California for the facilities for the construction and operation of the new building.
The building located in the Otay Industrial City, Tijuana, has an extension of 200,000 square feet and will allow storing 4,000 pallets.
During the event, the Undersecretary of Management and Investment of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation (SEI), the Undersecretary of Economic Development, and Raúl Francisco Escasan Leal, general manager, were present, as well as operational personnel.
Background
Scantibodies began its maquila operations in Mexico in 2002, four years later (2006) the subsidiary moved to its own building in the El Bajío Industrial Park, in the municipality of Tecate, which in 2007 was designated as an official tourist attraction by the State Tourism Council.
The company with 18 years of presence in Baja California, dedicated to the production and elaboration of medical devices and antibodies for patients with cancer among other diseases, generates 1,800 jobs for the local industry.
